DETROIT MICHIGAN Michigan Central Depot picture photo - Detroit Art Gallery photograph picture print for sale: This dramatic Detroit Photo Gallery photo of the DETROIT MICHIGAN CENTRAL TRAIN DEPOT is a photo taken in the late winter in downtown City of Detroit, Michigan. This Detroit Michigan Central Train Depot photo picture print, a historic Detroit landmark, is made from an original black and white photograph that has been hand-colored by nationally recognized artist/photographer Jan Kaulins. This Michigan Central Depot picture photo is a wonderful photograph of the front of this once magnificent largest railroad train depot in the world ravaged by the elements and time. The popularity of air travel and the proliferation of automobiles sealed the fate of one of the earliest modes of mass transit--the American railroad. Construction began in 1912 on The Detroit Michigan Central Depot Detroit train station, pictured here in this original Detroit Fine-Art Limited Edition photograph. In this historic City of Detroit MCD photograph we can see that it standing as a monument to our past and to another era--it's fate not yet known, though there has been some talk about the possibility of using The Michigan Central Depot for the new City of Detroit Michigan Police Station. This Michigan Central Depot photo shows snow on the ground and on the tattered roof, but the grass peering through the melted snow is green--spring, a time of growth and renewal, is coming. The bare trees in the photo frame the front entrance to The City of Detroit Michigan Central Depot Train Station.
