ELWOOD BAR AND GRILL DETROIT PHOTO PICTURE - DETROIT ELWOOD BAR AND GRILL AND DETROIT FOX THEATRE photo picture art photograph print - Elwood Bar and Grill Detroit and Fox Theatre - Detroit, Michigan pictures art prints photo: This historic Detroit Elwood Bar and Grill photo of The Elwood Bar and Grill and The Detroit Fox Theatre is a color photo of an ORIGINAL BLACK AND WHITE PHOTO THAT HAS BEEN HAND-COLORED of Detroit's Elwood Bar and Grill which stood sentry on Woodward Avenue for many years. In the background of this historic Detroit picture photograph can be seen The Fox Theatre. In bygone years The Elwood Bar and Grill was know as a slightly rundown haven for locals and the occasional wino. Several years ago it was beautifully renovated and began catering to the Fox Theatre crowd as well as thirsty students from down the street at Detroit College of Law.
The Detroit Ellwood Bar and Grill was designed and built in 1936 by Detroit architect Charles Noble. The Elwood Bar and Grill art-deco facade was preserved as The Elwood was moved to its new home behind the Gem Theatre and Comerica baseball Park. This vintage Detroit picture photo of The Elwood Bar and Grill is a nice reminder to its patrons who remember hanging out there when The Elwood was located on Woodward Avenue.
