Photo #1190 (Use this photo number when ordering)
by Jan Kaulins
WILLOW RUN B-24 BOMBER WWII photo picture print photograph for sale. This sepia toned photo pictures a WILLOW RUN Ypsilanti, MI B-24 Bomber photo print picture for sale of a B-24 Bomber that was built in 1942 at The Ford Willow Run ARSENAL OF DEMOCRACY Bomber Plant during World War II.
The B-24E Liberator bombers were produced at WILLOW RUN AIRPORT during World War II when the retooled Ford automotive factories, thanks in great part to Edsel Ford, began cranking them out for the American War effort . In this rare historical WWII photo print a new B-24E Liberator Willow Run made bomber photo print for sale, was named for Captain Eddie Rickenbacker and bears his autograph and picture painted on the fuselage. It is shown here in this historical Willow Run Airport photo print for sale as it returns to the Willow Run airfield at Ford's big Willow Run plant after a successful trial test flight. The Liberator is capable of operation at high altitudes and over great ranges on precision bombing missions. It has proved itself an excellent performer in the Pacific, in Northern Africa, Europe and the Aleutians. It is shown here at Ford's Willow Run Plant in Ypsilanti, Michigan in 1942. This is a wonderful historic image of Detroit's ARSENAL OF DEMOCRACY that had a major role in winning WWII.
