De Soto Assembly Plant Detroit 1933 photo picture print for sale. This is a quite rare Detroit automotive history photo print for sale. While De Soto sales executives were holding dealer meetings in leading key citieies across the country, the De Soto factory in Detroit was speeding production on the 1933 De Soto Six, which would be formally announced in a few weeks from the time that this original photo was taken. This historic photo shows factory mechanics busy on the very first 1933 chassis to come along the line.

The Lynch Road Assembly Plant was located near old Detroit City Airport. Lynch Road was opened for DeSoto and Plymouth production in 1928 at 6334 Lynch Road, where it operated until April 1981.

The quality of the Jan Kaulins' photographic prints is much higher than we can show within limits of this web site. Slight tonal changes and blurring around the areas of strong contrast are a result of the JPEG compression process, and are not part of the high quality originals.
