OLD ORCHESTRA HALL DETROIT 1939 photo picture print for sale. This OLD DETROIT ORCHESTRA HALL photo picture vintage print for sale is from a professionally restored rare 1939 Original negative/photo. It shows the original sign at the corner reading 'ORCHESTRA HALL THE HOME OF THE DETROIT SYMPHONY'. DETROIT ORCHESTRA HALL was designed by Howard Crane and opened in 1919. It remained the home of the DETROIT SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA until 1939 when it was forced to move to the Masonic Temple. In 1941 the vacant building was reopened as The Paradise Theater. It has since been renovated and is now part of The Max M. Fisher Music Center. Before the construction of Orchestra Hall in 1919, The Detroit Symphony was housed in THE DETROIT OPERA HOUSE (see photos of The Original Detroit Opera house elsewhere on this website at www.OldDetroitPhotos.com ) This is an extremely rare photo of this historical original structure in 1939 before it moved to the Masonic Temple.
