PALACE OF AUBURN HILLS Detroit Pistons photo picture print - Detroit Pistons Palace Of Auburn Hills picture photo - This picture of The Palace of Auburn Hills was made from an original black and white photograph that was hand colored by nationally recognized artist and photographer Jan Kaulins. The Palace of Auburn Hills was built in 1988 and is the current home of The 2004 NBA Champion Detroit Pistons and 2005 Eastern Conference Champions and 2005 NBA Finalists Detroit Pistons, The Detroit Vipers and The Detroit Shock. This arena seats 21,454 fans. The Detroit Pistons moved to Detroit in 1957 from Ft. Wayne, Indiana where their first games were at legendary Olympia Stadium. The Detroit Pistons had done stints at Cobo Hall in Detroit and at the Pontiac Silverdome for ten seasons before moving to The Palace. This hand colored photo captures the grandeur of this large sports arena located in Auburn Hills, just north of Detroit, Michigan. The Detroit Pistons recently won The 2004 NBA Finals Championship here at The Palace of Auburn Hills in game 5 by totally overwhelming and outplaying The Los Angeles Lakers. In 2005, after winning The Eastern Conference Championship again, the Detroit Pistons took on The San Antonio Spurs in the 2005 NBA Finals and ended up loosing in the last game of that very close seven game series. The quality of the Jan Kaulins' photographic prints is much higher than we can show within limits of this web site. Slight tonal changes and blurring around the areas of strong contrast are a result of the JPEG compression process, and are not part of the high quality originals.
