ROSA PARKS BUS picture are print photograph for sale. ROSA PARKS BUS picture photograph art print poster for sale. The historic Rosa Parks Montgomery Alalbama Bus Boycott Bus is shown parked at The ROSA PARKS MEMORIAL SERVICE in The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit, Michigan, November 01, 2005. After lying in state for public viewing in Montgomery, AL and lying in state at the Capitol Rotunda in Washington D.C. (the first woman ever to be honored this way), Rosa Parks body was brought back to rest at The Rosa Parks Memorial Service in Detroit, the city where she lived for many years after leaving Alabama in 1957.

This historic bus that Rosa Parks rode had been on display at the Henry Ford Museum since it was restored, until it was brought here for The Rosa Park Memorial Service to be on display for one day in front of the Charles H. Wright African American Museum in the Ford Freedom Rotunda in downtown Detroit, where Ms. Rosa Parks worked and lived for many years. Rosa Parks moved to Detroit in 1957. In 1965 she joined the staff of U.S. Representative John Conyers of Michigan and worked until her retirement in 1988. In 1999 she was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal of Honor, the highest honour a civilian can receive in the United States. Ms. Parks passed away on Oct. 24, 2005 at the age of 92. Shortly after Ms. Rosa Parks Memorial Service the historic bus was returned to the Henry Ford Museum where it is on permanent display.

This exceptional Rosa Parks Bus photo captures on film that brief historical moment while the bus was on display at The Rosa Parks Memorial Service in Detroit, as many thousand of mourners paid their last respects to an American Hero for the last time.

This Rose Parks Bus color photo was MADE FROM AN ORIGINAL BLACK AND WHITE PHOTOGRAPH THAT WAS HAND-COLORED and photographed by award winning photographer/artist Mr. Jan Kaulins. This original COPYRIGHTED Rosa Parks Bus photo at The Rosa Parks Memorial Service in Detroit photograph is available for sale from The Detroit Photo Gallery in an artist/photographer signed and numbered Limited Edition photo print. (See information below).

This is a very historical photo of The Bus which Ms. Rosa Parks rode into history on Dec. 1, 1955. With a courageous act Rosa Parks inspired the bus boycott in Montgomery, Alabama. The boycott was the first successful mass protest mounted by African Americans and brought worldwide attention to the civil rights movement. The boycott was organized by the Montgomery Improvement Association, a group led by a 26 year old Baptist minister named Martin Luther King, Jr.

Bus #2857 sat in a farmer's field for about 30 years. The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan heard that this historic bus was still around and proceeded, with great care and detective work, to track it down and see if they could verify and document that it was the actual bus on which Ms. Rosa Parks refused to give up here seat on that historic day. They were able to do so and brought fleet bus #2857 up to Michigan where it, being in very bad condition, was completely restored and put on display at The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn. This historic Rosa Parks Bus had been on display in The Henry Ford Museum until it was brought to be parked for one day at the Charles H. Wright African American Museum during the November 1, 2005 Rosa Parks Memorial Service, before it was returned to the Henry Ford Museum for permanent display.
